After
a long illness, our dear friend and co-editor Lois Hirshkowitz, passed
away on Tuesday, May 20th. Her editorial contributions and her provocative,
original poems remain a gift even in her absence. Barrow Street and many
poetry friends and peers will be hosting a memorial service for Lois on
Friday, September 26th from 630 - 830 pm. The event will take place at
the Greenwich House Music School, 46 Barrow Street, in New York City.

The Barrow Street Press Book Contest Winner for 2007 is Ely Shipley, for
his manuscript Boy with Flowers.
